Return to the Library

Today I started working on my Essay and I was recommended to get at least 5 books on the topic from the Uclan Library.

I went for a evening book hunting quest looking to get some interesting books on Weapon Design, and anything related to it.

I did come back home with 10 books.

The Books

I went around the Library looking for books, thankfully all of them were in the second floor and I had spend some time looking for the correct ones.

The priority is to get weapons and fantasy related materials.

For the ones who been reading my blogs, this won't be as surprise, improving my skills in Maya and learning more about the software that I been working on all these years is crucial for the creations of my weapons.

The Graphic Art of Computer Games

This book brings me back memories of when I was playing Quake in my dad computer in 2007. if it manage to create this feeling on me I have to learn and understand how to recreate the same feelings with my own assets for games.

A guide of creating assets for videogames, a straightforward book for prop and designers for various models in videogames. just something I had to pick up.

Arms and Armour in antiquity and the middle ages:

also a descriptive notice of modern weapons

by Charles Boutell, M.A. London and New York: Cassel, Petter and Galpin

This book was a nightmare to search, the only copy in the entire library, I was going trough, ceramic crafting, metal forging, rings, silver spoons and other blacksmith works. just for this one singular book. It did took me more than 20min search thought the library.

The Archaeology of Weapons:

arms and armour from prehistory to the age of chivalry

by R. Ewart Oakeshott

This mysterious book took me even longer to find, it was somewhere hidden in the corner of section 739.7 of the Library in the second Floor. I used the PC to search for the exact location of this particular manuscript.

The book has no picture on the front, and it was placed in the ceramic session. so I went thought he entire crafting are to find this one.
