Updating the Spellbook Diorama

The Spellbook

I started working on the runes for the book. I noticed that the reference I chose has runes shape that are very similar across them, so I created some main model that I can use to create various runes. I also UV mapped the main runes so that it would be easy for me.

I manly used the Quad draw tool to create symbols using some reference I found on Pinterest, the process was simple, and I UV mapped them all.

I also updated the model with some details

I use these as reference for the symbols on the book

I logged into my sketchfab to upload my spellbook model with the new scene.

I am happy with how the base model looks in sketchfab

This is how the modle looks like in Maya

I went in sketchfab to create some textures for the spells of the model. and some basic textures for the extra parts.

I then uploaded the textures in Sketchfab. originally I was planning to have the runes effect on different colours, but I discarded that idea, and kept them on a pink-purple see trough effect. and the symbols in the book are on black to mimic ink.

This is how the model is presented with the new textures.

I created some simple colored runes from some reference in pinterest.

I imported them all in sketchfab

I updated some the texture for the stand holding the book.

I add some emissive material to make it look like the magic is affecting the metal.

This is the updated model for now

I will have to continue adjusting this model, the next step would be to add interesting details with ZBrush.

I imported the side "rocks" into ZBrush to give them some details.

The scene look much better now
