The Laboratory - Reinvented

Working on the Laboratory project made me realise that animations, blueprints and visuals take lots of time and energy.

My goal was to make something playable, that was easy.

Moving to third person made the game character a priority to fix, to be more visually appealing, I tried replacing the character model with different skins, and most of the time breaking the game on the process.

I had lots of help working on the Laboratory, my friends from 10th Percent Studios helped me out with the blueprints and guided me to the right direction.

Having all the tools to me available I worked on to archive a playable level.

I did manage to succeed.

I also want to change the camera from Third Person to First Person.

The Laboratory is a project aimed to combine different gameplay elements and associate them to 3D model that the player can interact in the World.

The player will visually identify various objects in the laboratory map, these could be:

Sci-Fi Rifle - this is a ranged weapon that the player can use to shoot enemies.

Cyber Katana - this is a melee weapon that the player can use to attack, dash and deflect bullets

Trampoline - this are placed in point where the play may fall, they are then used to reach high points by jumping or falling into them.

Buttons and Doors - these have matching colours to allow the player to use them accordingly, they are designed to be visually appealing, the player can interact with various buttons to activate/deactivate doors and platforms for more traversal.

Shooting torrents - these are places for the player or the enemy to use to destroy environments parts, sadly I couldn’t make them function correctly, for now they are just placed around the world.
