Design The Axe of Black Ink

The Ink Axe



I was making vague design Ideas of how and Axe can be created using Ink

I found an interesting reference for the Ink axe


I made a quick Sketch of the Axe of photoshop, it is pretty generic and not much, but i want to understand the shape and form of the Axe and how to add the Ink component and make it look more magical.


I recreated the design as sketch to mimic the axe. This time I added a small magic glass bottle on the axe handle with a small Ink creature trapped inside it. once the bottle cap is opened the ink create will come out and form an Axe. This is my main goal, I don't particularly like the normal axe blade so I'm pushing towards a more bizarre design.



I stabled across the Rorschach Phycology Test and took inspiration for my Axe

I modified the Blade, I liked the symbolic/representative in some sort or form. I would like the blade to feel more fluid just like the ink, but still hold together by the Axe handle.

I then proceeded to colour and add some details to make the Ink Axe a bit more malevolent.
The shape and form does not sell the Idea of the Axe so I have to make some adjustments.




This is my final version for the Axe, I made the blade more prominent to reassemble an Axe Style



Example of weapons that have the same feeling and look of what I'm aiming for.

The Ink that comes out from the Glass forms an Axe, and it says in the shape of the blade.


The feel of the Axe is interesting but it will be hard to recreate, this is a my challenge.


The Ink would feel Way different from water

The Art of Alice Madness Returns

The World of Concept Art The Idea My main goal for this Blog chapter is to discover, analyse and explain: Why are the weapons memorable in videogames. How and why they are designed that way, and why that particular style is used. Environment and Modular Building

 I was searching for various modular packs for Building and environment. I found this artwork  on Artstation. I want the island surrounded by water, with a volcano area, a shipwreck area, a village, a fort and a magic tower. Various caves and secret underground tunnels across the island. I found this 3D Scene on Sketchfab of a Tropic Island with a skull, i really like the way it is implemented. Here is another interesting Tropic island Scene .
