Gundam!

Image
I add a gundam model  from Sketchfab to my scene I used the mesh available to me to create a barrier and an area for the Gundam to act as background decorative mesh in the level. I then grouped the meshes together so that is easier to move them around in the level. I positioned the Gundam model somewhere visible in the track This is a very Useful Tutorial to move assets between levels.

Rigging the Car

Image
My next step is to replace the UE5 Base car with the Yellow Racing Car To replace the car, I need to first rig the Yellow Car model, to archive this I imported the Car in Blender and followed some YouTube tutorial to rig the vehicle. I tried rigging the Car on Blender but I had some issues getting it right. I did follow different tutorials to get it right but the front wheels seem not to function as intended. It must match the skeleton mesh of this Car, to be replaced successfully. This is what I got I also adjusted the size of the assets in the level to match the car, for a more in depth immersion The Car is replaced  I also add a light in front of the vehicle, to illumine dark roads. The Car felt too Light so I increased the weight of the Model and the tyres to make it stay on the ground The weight of the tyres The weight of the Body There are still some issues related to the car I fixed this by changing the Suspension value on the wheels I also increased the Car Mass to stop the ve

Cyber City V2

Image
I continued working on my Cyber City level design. I'm going to implement more models to create a fictional futuristic japan, with the intention of allowing the player to drive trough the City during night. I uploaded this Bus Station Model from Sketchfab Into Unreal Engine 5 and then I combined each part together, then I imported the textures and I tried to figure out how to apply them all correctly.. I followed this Tutorial to make a glowing material Thanks to that, now I have Neon Materials that I can use for various meshes on the level Then I followed this Tutorial to create the Glass Material I followed this Unreal Tutorial to make the level night, I changed the scenario of the level This is the evening version. This is the Night Version, that I prefer more, The look of this is much stronger and makes all the Neon Elements show up more.

Recently I was thinking about combining a few Sci-FI assets into my new project. I used the Racing Game asset similation from Unreal Engine as base I also downloaded this Car Model from Sketchfab and Imported into Unreal Engine. I then applied all the Textures of the Car In Unreal Engine 5 This is the result for now I don't like the colour green of the car, I will change the colour to a yellow/orange tone. I imported the Car model and the Textures into Substance Painter and I started working on the New Textures for The Car. I made some some adjustments to the colours I added some stickers to make the car more interesting Then I imported the Textures into Unreal Engine 5 I also Imported A shop Mode l From Sketchfab. Overall I'm happy with the look the what I got now, I will expand the City and add more Cyber/Neon themed meshes to this Project.

Game Animations

What type of gameplay I want to include? I want to mix FPS with hack and slash, so that players can mix a it of both  There are many examples I would like to show Let's starts with this video:  ENENRA - Level Based Combat UE4 Here the player is controlling the character from 3rd Person Perspective This is the tutorial for the Crosshair  , it is very useful while making a FPS game. Mechanics for this game I want the player to be able to use the rifle and the sword together in combat. I wanted to polish the shooting gameplay first and some of the environment mechanics then move to the melee system, Blending in melee and fps gameplay, to do this it require to have certain other mechanics. and animations that ties both together. then we have the mechanics for the level. The blueprints that you made last time were solid and they did the job. the rifle gameplay is actually fun and the enemies are responsive. even if they are not much of a treat because the player doesn't die, here co

I also imported a Launch Pad Mes h from Sketchfab and I made some textures using Substance Painter 2024 that I Purchased from Steam. I purchased new animations for my game and imported into the project file.
